Fresh Sambar Powder made from a traditional blend of fragrant spices to bring out the authentic south Indian flavour to your home everyday.

Cooking directions

  • Cook 75g Toor dal with 1 tsp of turmeric separately and mash it well and keep it aside.
  • Soak ½ lemon size tamarind in 1 ½ glass water and extract the juice.
  • Boil 200g of vegetablesof your choice cut into cubes with 1 tsp of salt. Do not overcook the vegetables.
  • Add tamarind extract to the vegetables and let it boil till the raw smell of tamarind goes.
  • Add 1 tsp of salt &2 tsp of SURASRITHI SAMBAR POWDER.
  • Pour the cooked & mashed toor dal into the above mix and boil it for 10 min.
  • For seasoning heat 1 tsp oil, splutter ½ tsp of mustard seeds, ¼ tsp of fenugreek seed, a pinch of hing/asafoetida and four pieces curry leaf and pour it on the prepared sambar.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Tasteful delicious SURASRITHI SAMBAR is ready to serve.
  • Adjust salt, tamarind water, SURASRITHI SAMBAR POWDER according to your taste.

    It has a moderate amount of spice in it. It is not too much too less

    The sambar powder is purely vegetarian. It also does not contain garlic or onion
